Western Sahara Human rights activists call for international community to protect the Moroccan repression

The delegation of Sahrawi human rights activists from the occupied territories and involved in the eighth edition of International Film Festival in Western Sahara, Fisahara, asked Tuesday in Dakhla, the international community a mechanism to protect the Moroccan repression in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, southern Morocco and in universities where students enrolled in Western Sahara.
Members of the delegation who spoke to the participants in this edition, also lamented the fact that the Security Council of the United Nations has not extended the mandate of MINURSO for the protection and monitoring of the situation of human rights Western Sahara.

"This repressive policy we do not from participating in this festival than at other times "they said in a press conference organized during the festival.

Sahrawi activists expressed their gratitude and appreciation to all democratic forces and friends of the Saharawi people, including Algeria, South Africa, Venezuela , for their unwavering support to the just cause of the people of Western Sahara.

"The presence of a delegation from the occupied territories of Western Sahara in this festival is to express our rejection of the Moroccan occupation and break the military siege imposed on media and the occupied territory, since occupation of Morocco in 1975 is illegal, "said N'guia Alhaouassi, member of the delegation.

The 15-member delegation arrived Tuesday in Dakhla to participate in the eighth edition of the World Film Festival in Western Sahara and the Regional Festival of art and popular culture that takes place in the wilaya of 3 to 8 May. (SPS)
